At a press conference in Beijing on July 10, Chinese Deputy Minister of Commerce Qian Keming said that this year’s CAEXPO will have the theme of "Jointly Building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Promoting Regional Economic Integration with Tourism."
CAEXPO has well served as a bridge boosting economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN, Qian said, adding that China remained ASEAN’s largest trade partner with total bilateral trade turnover reaching 452.2 billion USD in 2016 and 195.6 billion USD in the first five months of 2017.
The Deputy Minister also added that China and ASEAN have also fostered their cooperative ties in infrastructure and investment as well as regional economic integration.
Zhang Xiaoqin, Vice Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said this year marks the 50th founding anniversary of ASEAN and the year of China-ASEAN tourism cooperation, hoping that it will help further promote cooperation potential between the two sides.
The annual event is expected to draw over 10,000 visitors and feature 80 trade networking activities./.
