Illustration photo Mavin Group, a joint venture between Australia and Viet Nam, and Japanese-invested Sojitz Viet Nam held a ceremony on June 25 to announce the first fresh pork shipment in late May to Myanmar.
Theshipmentis regarded asa success of the animal farming sector asthis is the first time a company in VietNam has satisfied another country’s technical and quality requirements to export pork.
It is an important channel to bring agricultural products, especially animal productsof VietNam to global markets.
VietNam exported the first batch of chicken to Japan last year, and Japan has permitted the Vietnamese chicken exporter to expand production and shipment to this market.
The countryhas also been exporting suckling pig products to Hong Kong (China), Malaysia and some other markets.
Chairman of theMavinGroup David John Whitehead said the company plans to export at least one 40-foot container of fresh pork, equivalent to 26 tonsto Myanmar each monthin the upcoming time.
