Phnom Penh (VNA) – All 11 political parties in Cambodia began their election campaigns on June 26, one month before the general election.
From early morning, vehicles adorned with flags and political banners roared up and down the country’s roads, broadcasting their policies and calling on voters to cast ballots for their parties.
The Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Sam Rainsy, Norodom Ranariddh and FUNCINPEC opposition parties held meetings to mark the first day of their election campaigns.
The government has also deployed security forces, particularly in “sensitive” spots, to respond to any social unrest related to the election that is scheduled to be held on July 27.-Enditem |
