Vietnamese Standing Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung and his Lao counterpart Somsavat Lengsevath co-hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for the upgradation of Road 2E, a part of the trans-Asia route, this morning.
Once completed, Road 2E will facilitate the movement of people and cargos and promote tourism, services and direct investment between Phongsali Province in Laos and Dien Bien in Vietnam as well as between northern Laos and Vietnam’s northwest.
The road is considered a vivid evidence of the Vietnam-Laos friendship, said Vietnamese Transport Minister Ho Nghia Dung.
