The Vietnamese PM said that, the presence of various enterprises reflects their deep interest in the development of trade cooperation and partnership for socio-economic development between ASEAN as a whole and every member-country and the Republic of Korea (RoK).
After 20 years, the RoK has become an important economic partner of ASEAN. The total two-way trade turnover sharply increased from US $46 billion in 2004 to over US $90 billion in 2008. The two sides have inked many cooperation documents, including the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation 2005; Commodity Trade Agreement 2006 and the Service Trade Agreement 2007.
The ASEAN-Korea Center (AKC) was officially inaugurated in March in order to step up investments, trade and tourism between the two sides.
The business communities of the two sides have made great contributions to those achievements, stated PM Dung.

He urged businesses to lay the solid foundation for the sustainable development in the future,narrow the development gaps, speed up the implementation of the inked agreements, abrogate barriers and join efforts to cope with common challenges.
PM Dung assured that, with determination and potentials of every country and enterprise, the ASEAN-Korea cooperation will surely become increasing effective, and businesses will play a decisive role in shaping the two regions’ future of sustainable growth and development.
The Vietnamese leader expressed his confidence that the Summit will promote economic and trade cooperation between ASEAN and Korean enterprises. Through direct and frank talks and discussions about changes, challenges and opportunities,businesses will have more information to put forth practical solutions for the prosperity of ASEAN, East Asia and the entire continent.

The same day, at the reception to representatives of Vietnamese and Korean enterprises, PM Dung hailed them for efforts to overcome difficulties in realizing many projects in Vietnam.
He stressed that the Vietnamese Government always encourages and create best conditions for Korean investors to do profitable business in Vietnam.
