PM Nguyen Tan Dzung embarks visits to European countries
PM Nguyen Tan Dzung, accompanied by a Vietnamese high-ranking delegation, this morning started his official visits, from September 14-19, to Kazakhstan, Denmark and Hungary at the invitations of the host leaders.

The delegation draws the participation of the PM’s spouse, leaders of the Government Office, Ministries of Justice, Natural Resources and Environment, Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Labor-War Invalids and Social Affairs, Health, Education and Training, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Provincial People’s Committees of Quang Binh and Can Tho, PetroVietnam, Ha Noi National University, and Vietnamese Ambassadors to the three countries.
Kazakhstan, Denmark and Hungary have been maintaining the friendly and multifaceted cooperative ties with Vietnam. They are also seeking for closer ties with Asian-Pacific countries including Vietnam. In terms of economics, there are open doors for them to cement and deepen relations with Vietnam.
So far, the economic ties between Kazakhstan and Vietnamare thought to be very modest. The two-way trade turnover stood at US $96 million in 2008, up 40% against 2007. The two sides are discussing ways to shake hands in petroleum exploitation and mining.
The Vietnam - Denmark relations have seen promising signs in all fields. In 2008, the two-way trade volume reached US $318 million. Denmark is Vietnam’s big investor and sponsor. Last year, Denmark decided to grant Vietnam a new package of aid, worth of US $40 million, on climate change.
Through exchanges of high-ranking delegations, the relations between Việt Nam and Hungary have been strengthened in bilateral and international aspects. The two-way trade turnover in 2008 was US $100 million, 25% bigger than in 2007. Hungary gives high priority to Vietnam in its development cooperation policies.
The Vietnamese PM’s visits aim at to consolidating and strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with traditional friends, reinforcing Vietnam’s position and prestige in the world, and bringing new depth and focus to the relations between Vietnam and the three European countries./.
