Singapore's manufacturing output fell 7.7 percent in September over a year ago, government statistics showed on Monday.
According to the Singapore Economic Development Board, the output of the precision engineering cluster registered the largest year-on-year decline of 14.3 percent in September, followed by biomedical manufacturing which contracted 13.9 percent, chemicals down 8.7 percent, transport engineering down 8.1 percent, general manufacturing down 3.8 percent and electronics down 1.1 percent.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, manufacturing output declined by 9.1 percent in September 2009./.
