The Government chief recently gave green light to the master plan on the construction of Hoa Lu BGEZ to 2025.
The BGEZ will help to develop economic, cultural and diplomatic exchanges between Vietnam and Cambodia; serve as a commercial, industrial and service center of the Binh Phuoc Province and play as an important transport hub for the region.
The EZ will stretch out in 28,364 hectares and have a population of around 80,000–100,000 people in 2015, with about 30,000 more in 2025.
Such major transport axes like National Highway 13 and the trans-Asian Highway will connect the BGEZ’s different functional areas.
Investment projects on technical infrastructure development will be prioritized to expand National Highway 13; build water and electric stations and sewage treatment plants.
On the other hand, non-tariff and resident areas will be developed.
As of October 2009, over 51 investors registered to do business in the Hoa Lu BGEZ, of which 21 received land.
