Energy ministers from around the world on Wednesday decided to resort to transparent data and eased high-quality analysis to achieve stability and sustainability of energy development.
The ministers and senior officials, hailing from 66 countries and regions, made and announced the decision at the end of the 12th International Energy Forum (IEF), held in the Mexican resort town of Cancun.
They also decided to set aside differences between producers and consumers, and to identify guidelines for better energy development.
Consensus was reached to share analysis of present and future market tendencies, connections among physical, financial and regulatory markets, and promotion of transparency on annual investment plans on energy development.
The four-point action plan was included in the Cancun Declaration issued after the forum.
The declaration also said that the energy issue cannot be dealt with unilaterally because it dictates a commitment for international cooperation and demands a consensus out of frank and open dialogue./.
