Indonesia on Thursday predicted that its economic growth will accelerate to 5.9 percent this year, higher than assumption in the state budget, boosted by 6 percent growth in the second half, Bisnis Indonesia daily quoted a minister as saying here.
"We see first half growth of around 5.8 percent and 6 percent in the second half, supported by increasing international trade volume and improving non-tax state income," said Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo.
The full-year growth projection is at the higher-end of the government's forecast range of 5.5 percent to 6 percent.
He said that the signal of recovering world economy will support Indonesian economy further.
Previously, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its prediction on global economic growth this year to 4.6 percent from 4.2 percent./.
