A strong recovery of refined activities helped France to strengthen its industrial production 2.3 percent in November after falling 0.8 percent in October, official figures showed on Monday.
Manufacturing businesses reported a 2.2-percent rise. The sector's expansion stemmed mainly from a 108.3-percent surge in refined petroleum products as the country's refineries resumed production after their long-running blockades in October for pension strikes.
Output of transport key sector reported a 2.1-percent growth in November compared to 0.6 percent rise in October.
Mining and energy production was up 2.5 percent while construction activities showed a weak performance by decreasing 1.3 percent in the month.
France was the world's sixth-largest exporter and the fourth-largest importer of manufactured goods in 2009, according to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
