PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Tuesday confirmed Vietnam’s strong determination to expand multi-faceted cooperation with Turkey, particularly in trade and investment.

The Government chief made the point at his meeting with Turkish Deputy PM and State Minister Bulent Arinc who is on his working visit to Vietnam to attend the 5th session of the Vietnam-Turkey Joint Committee for Cooperation.
“Vietnam will continue to create favorable conditions for Turkish investors to do business here,” the Vietnamese PM pledged.
He stressed that the bilateral relationship has been developing welll with the two-way trade turnover reaching US $ 800 million in 2010 and would rise to US $2 billion in coming years.
The PM called on Turkey to remove anti-dumping tax against some of Vietnam’s export products and to soon recognize the market-oriented economy of Vietnam, saying that they are practical moves to beef up economic and trade linkages between the two countries.
He also hoped the two sides would quickly translate cooperation programs reached by the two countries’ high-ranking leaders into reality.

The same day, Deputy PM and FM Pham Gia Khiem met with Mr. Bulent Arinc.
The two sides agreed to raise the bilateral trade turnover to US $1 billion in 2011, and to expand cooperation in education, culture, tourism and transport.
Vietnam and Turkey will quickly sign agreement on investment protection and encouragement and another agreement on double taxation avoidance to create a firmlegal foundation for long-lasting cooperation./.
