E-commerce will become an effective tool for enterprises engaging in production and business in the period of 2011-2015, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh.
Mr. Vinh made the point yesterday in Hanoi at a seminar on developing e-commerce for the 2011-2015 period.
E-commerce and ITC applications play an important role in business strategies of Vietnamese enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
Accordingly, 32 provinces and cities have already mapped out their e-commerce development plans in line with the general development plan for 2010-2015, which was approved by the PM.
At the seminar, delegates focused on measures to build and implement e-commerce and ITC application plans in State management, enhance trade promotion activities, advance e-commerce solutions, and raise e-commerce capacity for better competitiveness.
Vietnam is striving to fulfill the general development plan by 2015 as followed: major corporations will have adopted e-commerce solutions for most of their transactions. All companies nationwide will have used e-mail in their business operations. Eighty percent of major corporations will have websites which are regularly updated. Seventy percent of corporations will utilize e-commerce websites./.
