Annual inflation in the eurozone remains stable at 2.5 percent in August, the same level as July, the European Union's (EU) statistical office Eurostat reported on Thursday.
Meanwhile, monthly inflation was 0.2 percent in August, said the Eurostat.
As for the 27-nation EU, annual inflation rate was 2.9 percent in August 2011, unchanged from July. August's monthly inflation rate was 0.2 percent.
The lowest annual rates in August were observed in Ireland (1.0 percent), Slovenia (1.2 percent) and Greece (1.4 percent), and the highest in Estonia (5.6 percent), Latvia (4.6 percent) and the United Kingdom (4.5 percent).
As for the eurozone, main components with the highest annual rates in August 2011 were transport (5.6 percent), housing (4.9 percent) and alcohol and tobacco (3.1 percent), while the lowest annual rates were observed for clothing (-2.8 percent), communications (-1.8 percent) and recreation and culture (0.4 percent).
