Ukraine's industrial output dipped 3.4 percent in April from the previous month mainly because of contractions in key sectors, Ukraine's State Statistics Service said Thursday.
The electric power, gas and water industry saw a monthly decline of 20.2 percent. The oil-refining industry fell 9.3 percent percent and the light industry dropped 2.9 percent, the service said in a report.
The full-year figure remained unchanged in April, driven by the mining industry and manufacturing, whose outputs rose by 2.5 percent and 0.2 percent year-on-year respectively, it said.
Local analysts believed that rising concerns over the global economy and low demand resulted in Ukraine's industrial production decline./.
