The two-way trade turnover between Viet Nam and the US is forecast to hit US$50 billion in 2020, according to the American Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (Amcham).
Amcham forecasts that bilateral trade would touch US$27 billion by 2013. Vietnamese shipments are estimated at US$33 billion by 2015 with its exports surging to more than US$27 billion.
The Chamber assessed that the bilateral trade relations continued to expand in 2012 but at a lower rate than the previous years, reaching US$24.6 billion.
Viet Nam’s garment and textile exports to the US market increased by 8% to US$7.8 billion in 2012 and is supposed to beat US$8.4 billion, US$9.1 billion and US$9.7 billion in 2013, 2014 and 2015 respectively./.
