In the working session today with State-run corporations and economic groups (SOEs) to discuss the realization of socio-economic tasks in 2009, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highlighted the role played by SOEs in putting the Government’s five urgent solutions into reality.
Forecasting economic difficulties next year, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asked SOEs to join efforts with the whole country in preventing economic recession.
The Government chief stressed on such major solutions as promoting production, business and export; stimulating investment; applying flexible financial and monetary policies; ensuring social security; and enhancing organizational work.
The PM revealed that the Government will pour US $1 billion to ignite investment in 2009 while revising mechanisms and policies as well as submitting to the National Assembly for approval of some amended laws to bring about best conditions for enterprises.
The Government authorizes and assigns SOEs to expand markets, create more jobs, prevent economic recession and obtain the growth rate of 6.5%.
Deputy PMs Nguyễn Sinh Hùng and Hoàng Trung Hải also underlined the leading role of SOEs.
They urged ministries and associations to assist SOEs to implement their production plans, attract and disburse FDI and ODA capital.
Warmly advocating the Government’s solutions, leaders of SOEs suggested the Government and the National Assembly entrust investors to appoint contractors, raise the charter capital, lower the interest rates of loans, and give tax exemption and reduction for projects.
Many SOEs expressed their hope to have meetings with relevant ministries during which they can discuss difficulties and implementation of those solutions.
