Representative of the World Bank expressed his admiration to Việt Nam’s achievements in attracting investments and its effective use of ODA to server infrastructure construction, poverty reduction and economic development.
Mr. John Roome, World Bank director of sustainable development for the East Asia and Pacific Region made the statement in his meeting with Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải this afternoon.
The guest showed his interest in Việt Nam’s development and policies in some fields, such as energy development, construction of highways, public-private cooperation and solutions to accelerate WB-funded projects.
Deputy PM Hải highly valued WB’s assistance and cooperation with Việt Nam over the past time, expecting that the bilateral ties will be further promoted.
He clearly explained Việt Nam’s new policies to upgrade infrastructure, an important precondition for rapid and sustainable economic development.
“Our government is striving to build a legal framework, simplify procedures, encourage all social resources and mobilize external capital sources to facilitate infrastructure projects on transport, energy, waste treatment, housing for low-income groups,” said the Deputy PM.
