Welcoming Singaporean FM George Yeo who is staying in Vietnam for the 9th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM 9), PM Nguyen Tan Dung urged the two countries to speed up the implementation of the Agreement on Economic Connection.
Highly speaking of Singapore’s plan to expand cooperation with Vietnam’s central provinces, PM Dung provided the guest with some additional information about these localities and their advantages.
He asked Singapore to shake hands with Vietnamese partners to open sea tourist route between Singapore and Central Vietnam.
According to the host leader, apart from economic cooperation, the two sides have great potentials to boost educational and training cooperation.
In the current situation of the world economy, the close collaboration between Vietnam and Singapore in particular and with other ASEAN members in general will surely raise more resources to cope with the economic recession for the sake of each country and the region as a whole, said PM Dung.
Minister George Yeo expressed his hope that the Government of Vietnam will back Singaporean investors to expand their operations in the central region of the country.
