Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship School in Vientiane on Wednesday, Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan stated that the Vietnam-funded school reflects the Party and Government of Vietnam’s interest in education development in the neighbor country.

Under the governmental-level Agreement on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training was entrusted to be the investor of the school.
The project was started on May 19, 2008 on the occasion of the 118th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
It was inaugurated today on the 64th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day.

Acting on behalf of the Party and Government of Vietnam, Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan, who is also the Minister of Education and Training, handed over the project to the municipal authority of Vientiane.
Addressing the ceremony, the Deputy PM expressed his confidence that the school will be a cradle where many generations of excellent students are nurtured for Laos.
