President Nguyen Minh Triet’s address focuses on three topics: Vietnam-Singapore partnership; Vietnam’s socio-economic development strategies; and Vietnam’s viewpoints to realize its diplomatic policy.
“We always welcome you and consider your success as ours… We want to link our development and prosperity to Singapore’s development and prosperity,” stated the Vietnamese President.
Regarding the diplomatic policy, Mr. Triet introduced Vietnam’s top priorities when undertaking the ASEAN Presidency in 2010: consolidating solidarity and linkages within ASEAN, putting into reality the ASEAN Charter, speeding up the realization of the ASEAN Community Roadmap, and expanding and deepening cooperation between ASEAN and partners.
