A Vietnamese delegation comprising representatives of ministries, sectors and over 60 enterprises led by Deputy FM Đoan Xuan Hung has recently surveyed investment chances in Myanmar.
The delegation paid a courtesy visit to PM Thein Sein and had a working session with Myanmar’s Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development.
The Myanmar side confirmed that they will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in their country.
According to official statistics of Myanmar, Vietnam’s investment there reached US $23.4 million by the end of September 2009.
Vietnam is Myanmar’s 16th biggest export market, importing mainly forestry and agro-products, seafood, and electronic components.
The two countries are planning to establish a direct air route to facilitate the bilateral economic and trade cooperations./.
