Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan expected that OECD would further cooperate with Vietnam in particular and ASEAN in general.
For his part, Mr. Mario Amano described Southeast Asia as the strategic partner for OECD and Vietnam as the go-between for OECD and ASEAN.
He said that, in the coming time, OECD will join hands with ASEAN in making the report on regional economic prospects and publishing it late this year in order to help ASEAN policy makers to take breakthrough measures for higher economic competitiveness.
OECD is planning to dispatch some agriculture, environment and education working teams to Vietnam this year, revealed Mr. Mario Amano.
Both the host and the guest agreed that Vietnam and OEDC have many possibilities for bilateral cooperation. OECD can make proposals for sustainable agriculture policies, evaluations for human resources and economic competitiveness of Vietnam./.
