During his visit to the Bulgaria, Vietnamese Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung on July 8 had a courtesy meeting with the host PM, Mr. Boyco Borisov.
He called for Bulgaria to further support the Vietnam - EU comprehensive relations and Vietnam’s negotiations for the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the EU, as well as influence the EU to soon recognize Vietnam’s market economy status.
As the Chair of ASEAN in 2010, Vietnam is willing to assist Bulgaria to strengthen cooperation with the countries in the region, Deputy PM Hung stated.
For his part, Bulgarian PM Boyco Borisov hailed over 30,000 Vietnamese people studying and working there for their contributions to Vietnam’s development and the relations of the two countries.
He suggested that Vietnamese exports could penetrate into other European countries through Bulgaria where lower tax rates are applied. Additionally, Bulgaria needs a great number of laborers since the country is implementing huge projects in construction, nuclear power, hydro power, and transport, PM Boyco Borisov said.

The same day, Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung met Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov and attended the Bulgaria-Vietnam Business Forum.
He witnessed the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding between firms of the two countries.
