Viet Nam will stop exporting ilmenite ore and ilmenite products by the end of 2011 after balancing domestic demand and supply, according to a decision by Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) was assigned to work with the People’s Committees of relevant provinces and cities and the Viet Nam Titanium Association to instruct enterprises engaged in titanium production to speed up the construction of processing plants and put them into operation as planned.
The MIT was asked to screen enterprises which were granted titanium exploitation licenses but still have inventory titanium in stocks, calculate the total volume of exported titanium, and report the findings to the PM for decision.
Export tariff of titanium is levied in line with the current regulations./.
