U.S. household net worth dropped about 150 billion U.S. dollars from the first quarter this year to 58.5 trillion dollars in the second quarter.
The value of Americans' stock portfolios dropped 0.5 percent from the previous quarter to 8.9 trillion dollars in the second quarter.
