Addressing the Vietnam - Qatar Business Forum held yesterday evening in Doha, Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dzung hoped that, in the time to come, Qatari enterprises will promote their investment activities in Vietnam, especially in energy, infrastructure, finance, banking and labor.
According to PM Dzung, the economic and political relations between Vietnam and Qatar have being vigorously flourishing over the past years. The two-way trade turnover jumped from US $30 million in 2006 to US $80 million last year.
The two countries have inked many important agreements on economic, trade, technical and labor cooperation. Recently, they also agreed to found a fund for petroleum and agriculture cooperation.

Briefing Vietnam’s economic situations and international status, PM Dzung stressed that there are a lot of good chances for those who wants to do business and investment in Vietnam, confirming Vietnam’s policy to befriend with all countries.
Vietnam has been actively taking part in international and regional cooperation process, said the PM.

He continued to assert that, in the context of global economic turmoil, closer cooperation between Vietnam and Qatar will be very useful, in the interest of the two peoples and for the sake of peace and stability in the world.
He urged the business communities of the two countries to deepen cooperation and create breakthroughs in economic, trade and investment activities.

At the forum, some cooperation agreements were inked, including a US $500-million pact between Vinaline and Restaport on building seaports and logistic facilities in Hai Phong City, an agreement between Lilama and Technip on oil refinery, and an agreement on e-transfer of money between Vietinbank and Dohabank.

In the same evening, PM Dzung received the acting Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and some leading Qatari enterprises.
He also hosted a reception to some Asian ambassadors in Qatar.
