Vietnam hopes to further cement relations with the WB

WB's proposals and ideas are rather helpful for Vietnam to design policies on macro-economic stability, finance and currency in the context of the global economic crisis and recession, said the PM, adding that the country wants to cement the ties with WB.
Vietnam has productively disbursed a large part of the WB-committed US $5.1-billion credit loans for socio-economic development programs, noted Ms. Victoria Kwakwa.
The WB will continue to offer the Southeast Asian country US $3-3.5 billion for public investment and energy projects within 2010-12, she revealed, urging the Vietnamese Government to quickly set up a portfolio for those projects.
Highly valuing the WB's goodwill, the PM asserted that the Government will actively instruct ministries, sectors and localities to establish the portfolio as well as speed up the disbursement of the remaining US $3.7 billion of the US $5.1-billion sum.
PM Dung also proposed that the international financial institution should enhance its credit assistance to the Government's prioritized projects on transport infrastructure, labor force training and healthcare./.
