There remain wide doors for closer trade and investment linkages between Viet Nam and Italy and the business communities should grasp the opportunities to push the bilateral ties ahead, underlined Vietnamese Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Continuing his working visit to Italy, Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung on July 13 (local time) in Milan received Italian FM Franco Fratini and attended the Viet Nam-Italy Business Forum.
In his meeting with Italian FM Franco Fratini, Mr. Hung held that Viet Nam and Italy share numerous similarities including geographic characteristics with long coastal lines which are favorable conditions for transportation and tourism.
Viet Nam, said the Deputy PM, is eager to shake closer hands with Italian partners in the areas of education, high-tech, infrastructure construction and integration.

Right after the reception, Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung witnessed the signing ceremony of the Agreement on Visa Exemption for Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders between Viet Nam and Italy, the Debt Swap Agreement, and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Italy’s participation in the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi.
Italian businesses are interested in Viet Nam
On the same day, Deputy PM Hung partook in the Viet Nam-Italy Business Forum which was jointly host by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Italian Federation of Industry and the Industrial and Employers' Association of the Lombardia Region.
The Vietnamese Government is centering on three fields namely infrastructure construction, training of high-quality human force, and administrative reforms with a view to offering best business environment for both domestic and foreign players, said Mr. Hung.

The Deputy PM went on to say that Viet Nam attaches importance to international integration in all domains. The country stands ready to serve as a bridge to bring Italy closer to Asia and ASEAN while hoping Italy to help Viet Nam to penetrate the EU zone.
Italian business representatives took this occasion to express their interests in Viet Nam’s markets, especially in such fields as tourism, technology transfer and intellectual property rights.
During his trip to Milan, Mr. Hung also met with Italian Trade Commission President Umberto Vattani and Vice President for Internationalization Paolo Zegna./.
