Construction output in the eurozone rose by 1.4 percent in July compared with the previous month, the EU statistics bureau Eurostat said on Monday.
Year on year, the eurozone construction output rose by 1.2 percent.
In the 27-nation EU, production in construction sector also rose slightly by 0.3 percent in July compared with the previous month, and increased by 0.2 percent over a year ago.
Among those member states whose data were available, construction output rose in five states and fell in eight on a monthly basis in July.
While Slovenia registered the largest monthly increase of 10.3 percent, Britain recorded the sharpest drop of 4.3 percent.
In July, building construction jumped by 0.6 percent in the euro area but dropped by 0.2 percent in the 27-nation EU.
Civil engineering increased by 4.1 percent in the euro area and by 2.0 percent in the EU, after fell by 3.2 percent and 2.0 percent respectively in the previous month.
