The two sides highly spoke of the outcomes of cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, regarding these as a vivid symbol for the two countries’ comprehensive ties.
They agreed to improve and raise the quality and efficiency of economic linkages of the two countries by encouraging the ties of investors and businesses in the coming period and pushing up two-way export turnover to US $2 billion in 2015.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded Vietnamese investors for their contributions to Laos, especially the establishment of the Vietnam business association there.
Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavat, for his part, appreciated the performance of big Vietnamese enterprises in Laos, saying these enterprises have worked for socio-economic development and lives of local people.
The Lao Government would create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors to secure a long-term foothold there, Mr. Somsavat Lengsavat added.
The same day, Mr. Phuc witnessed the appearance of the Standing Committee of the Vietnamese investment association in Laos and the inauguration of a branch of the Laos- Vietnam joint-venture bank and Hoang Anh Gia Lai – Attapeu four-star hotel./.
