Khammouane province has allocated land concession of 100 ha for Vietnamese investor to grow rubber trees in the province.
An agreement on the land concession was signed in Khammouane on 3 April by President of Land Management Authority of Khammouane, Mr. Sikhay Phengsavad and President of Youth Economic Development Company (Vietnam).
According to the agreement, the Vietnamese business is allowed to plant rubber trees in Ban Nazoke in Yommalath district, Khammouane province.
The agreement also says that the investor has to pay annually eight US dollars for every hectare it hires.
The company will start to clear land for planting the industrial trees in the next two months, said Mr. Sikhay.
