Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy visit of a Portuguese delegation, led by Mr Joao Gomes Crivinho, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on 7 April in Vientiane. Mr Joao Gomes was on a two-day (6-7 April) official visit to Laos.
Deputy Prime Minister said he warmly welcome the working visit of Mr Joao Gomes and his delegation and added that this will contribute to further cooperation between the two countries, Laos and Portugal. On the same day, the Portuguese delegation met the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Phongsavath Boupha, to discuss cooperation between the two countries and the other topics they touched on were ASEAN-EU relations and the work of UN in the region.
They also discussed trade cooperation, investment, education, technology-science, culture and tourism between Laos and Portugal.
