Vietnm has realized almost all Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) ahead of schedule and is able to complete the rest in 2015, said the Vietnamese Head of State.

Vietnam has made encouraged achievements in poverty reduction, primary education universalization, gender equality, reduction of child mortality, improvement of maternal health, combating malaria and other diseases. These records have been widely acknowledged by the UN, international organizations and other countries, said Mr. Triet.
The State of Vietnam has fulfilled its commitments by combining the implementation of MDGs with national development strategies, plans and programs at all levels while mobilizing full participation of people.
According to State President Triet, the positive outcomes in realizing MDGs have served to perfect living standards for hundreds of millions people, including those in least-developed countries.
The Vietnamese Head of State highlighted the importance to make MDGs a central issue for international cooperation and national development strategies in developing countries in order to gather necessary resources.
Mr. Triet suggested developed countries take responsibility for maintaining macro-economic stability, early concluding the Doha Round trade talks, removing unfair trade treatment, and providing more ODA.
The Vietnamese State President was convinced that with solid determination, great creativity and close cooperation, the world would attain new achievements in realizing MDGs./.
